Emily graduated from the University of Durham with a first class honours BSc in Biological Sciences with a focus on stem cells, microbiology and immunology. During her time at university, Emily conducted an internship at a company developing light activated HDAC inhibitor compounds for the treatment of early-stage oral cancers. Here, she investigated the programmed cell death pathway taken in cancer cells following treatment, and evaluated the effect these compounds could have as a novel antibiotic.
Emily joined our Cambridge office in 2023 as a trainee patent attorney, where she works on a variety of cases within the biotechnology field. Emily has gained experience in patent drafting, prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis and due diligence, and holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
