Tom graduated from the University of York in 2015 with a first class honours MChem degree, specialising in organic and materials chemistry. Following this, Tom completed an MRes and PhD at Imperial College London, graduating in 2020, where his doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterisation of novel organic semiconductor materials. Prior to joining Sagittarius IP, Tom spent 3 years working as an R&D tax consultant, where he supported a wide range of innovative start-up companies and SMEs in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food technology industries.

Tom joined Sagittarius IP in 2023 and is training to become a patent attorney. He has gained experience in patent drafting and prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis and due diligence. His work focuses on medicinal chemistry, in particular small molecule pharmaceuticals. Tom holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London and is based in our Marlow office.
