Our Services
Invention Spotting
The key to developing an IP strategy is understanding what developments are patentable and how best they should be protected. We work closely with our clients to review and capture patentable inventions for the generation of new IP and ensure its protection. We work with clients to develop a valuable IP estate that supports their commercial focus.
Patent Filing & Prosecution
As specialists in biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceutical patents, we provide expert advice for preparing and prosecuting patent applications in these sectors. We undertake drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications, including international (PCT) applications and representation before the UK and European Patent Offices. We also coordinate worldwide prosecution through our network of trusted overseas agents with expert knowledge of their local legal systems.
Oppositions & Appeals
Even once a patent is granted, it is critical to be able to defend your rights, or work to clear the way to market through post-grant proceedings. We have extensive experience and an impressive track record of success representing clients in EPO opposition proceedings and appeals
IP Portfolio Management Advice
Regardless of the size of the patent portfolio, it is critical to continually review the strategy and ensure it is suitable for the client’s commercial goals. We advise on all aspects of IP portfolio management, including regular evaluation of new and current developments of a client’s technology and the progression of IP prosecution in order to maximise value.
Freedom to Operate
It is essential to review the IP landscape and ensure there are no infringement risks which would hinder commercial goals. We design, commission and analyse freedom to operate searches to provide clear, commercially orientated advice which helps our clients to prepare accordingly.
